Clarke (Machine Mart) replacement heat resistant stove glass for the Clarke range of wood burning and multifuel stoves are made from Schott Robax heat resistant glass to withstand temperatures of up to 760 degrees. If your model is not listed then please call our help line on 0800 246 1810 as we will cut your stove glass to the required size
Remove the broken stove glass by loosening the retaining brackets, if the screws are too tight then heating them up with a blow torch will help. It is a good idea to vacuum the door area and then wipe all surfaces with a damp cloth - this will remove debris which can act as a pressure point and can cause the glass to crack (and you thought it was gremlins). Inspect the thermal rope or tape and replace if damaged. With thermal rope you will need to measure the diameter of the rope or the groove it fits into and use this to order a replacement. If you have tape, then again measure its thickness.Install the new replacement stove glass and tighten the brackets - friction tight to allow for expansion when the glass gets hot.Inspect the thermal rope or thermal tape and replace if damaged or worn. Install the new stove glass / heat resistant glass and tighten the brackets only FRICTION TIGHT so to allow for expansion when the glass heats up.
